Last night I went to see Jame’s Cameron’s new movie last night. I had heard lots of great things about Avatar which is always a liability when you go to see a movie. Admittedly, this is not really a genre that I usually seek out. I am normally more interested in fast paced action films, psychological thrillers, and twisting heist movies. Avatar was certainly different.
To be honest, I found the movie to be very much like watching Heidi Klum give a speech on world peace. It was beautiful to watch and certainly visually engaging but the story lacked much substance. I might have enjoyed it more if it had either been a silent film or with a nice musical background and no talking.
The most fascinating aspect of the movie’s provenance to me has been the wake of viewers who came away depressed that their world was not as beautiful as the video that they had just seen. It instantly reminded me of the look on most of our customers’ faces when they bring our cars back and walk out to their vehicles to drive home.
The experience of driving an exotic car is always surreal and in many ways is like watching a movie like this. It is a sensory overload that can definitely become addicting to the point of quick developing withdrawal symptoms. Of course if we really lived in Cameron’s iteration of Fern Gully, playing Pocahontas we would eventually miss the modern comforts of 2010. In the same way, if we drove a Ferrari or Lamborghini every day we would soon lament the lack of storage, unreliability, and impracticality.
It still seems like a great place to take a vacation though!

You are right Ed the movie was ok to me, i saw it when it first came out ,i enjoyed more the Academy Awards last night ( the Pink part) .
I did see the movie Avatar in 3-D which made the experiance as real as you can get to the naked forrest. I liked it a lot and I thought it was worth the ticket price considering I only go to the theater a couple time year because the price is to high for storylines that have been over done. Im sure that I would not pay to see it again thought. However, I have driven your cars on more than one occasion and I would do it again with minamal hesitation. In the exotic car you are the main character and that is something that even the most state-of-the-art film has yet to accomplish.
