People who have the means to own historic Ferraris rarely have the need or desire to sell them. Of course, sometimes people go bankrupt and then other people sell their cars.
A man named Tom Price was the purchaser of the “Kroyman Collection.” He actually sold a single rare Ferrari to afford the collection. Although the sale price was rumored to be over $30 million, it was actually closer to $16 million. It could be seen as quite a bargain for the collection of cars. A few of the key cars in the collection were known to be unoriginal. The 250 GTO which would have been worth more than the entire sale price of the collection, had a GTE engine which made it considerably less valuable. The 365 convertible was actually a conversion and several other cars had colored pasts.
